The Tapestry of Early Education in
Prince Edward County : A Mirror of an Evolving Society

Video: This video will outline
some outstanding features of the early education in Prince Edward
County, by describing the roles and interactions of the various
stakeholders of an evolving system of public education in Upper
Canada/Ontario. First-hand Account:
A retired teacher will tell her story about teaching on Waupoos
Island in Prince Edward County a half century ago.
This session will be held in the Town Hall. |

Interactive Session at the Victoria
Schoolhouse/Ameliasburgh Museum & Pioneer Village During your
interactive session in the schoolhouse, a small group of elementary
students will participate in a snapshot of a school day a century ago.
Opening exercises, brief lessons, recitations and schoolyard games will
be included. There will be a take-home package with more information
about the program and the three ways QEMA welcomes elementary students
to the Victoria Schoolhouse. |
Conference
participants will be provided with an opportunity to observe students
interact as they rotate between the Schoolhouse, the Log Cabin and the
Blacksmith Shop.
This session will be held the Victoria Schoolhouse & The
Ameliasburgh Historical Museum & Pioneer Village. |
