To SLATE in the County Conference & Workshop scheduled for April 15 & 16, 2012 in Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.

The initial communication has been forwarded by email to all SLATE contacts in southern Ontario including similar sites in Canada, the United States, professional Teachers’ organizations, and other interested groups.

Information related to the history of SLATE, plans for the SLATE in the County 2012 Conference & Workshop, and the Quinte Educational Museum & Archives (QEMA), will be featured on QEMA’s website, www.qema1978.com as it becomes available.

Rooms with special conference rates have been booked at the Travelodge Hotel, 11 Bay Bridge Rd, Belleville, Ontario CA, K8P 3P6.  These rooms will be held until March 15th.  Links are provided for other accommodation facilities listed in the tourist bureau websites for Prince Edward County and the City of Belleville.

QEMA’s Planning Committee has tentatively planned to accommodate 100 attendees.  Interested participants should plan to register early using the registration form provided in the SLATE section of the website.  The Conference fee will be $45.00 and we are requesting payment through PayPal.

The Conference will begin with a “Meet & Greet” Reception at the Ameliasburgh Town Hall on Sunday  April 15th , followed by a one day conference on the 16th using the facilities of the Ameliasburgh Town Hall, The Ameliasburgh Historical Museum and Pioneer Village and QEMA’s Victoria Schoolhouse.

We are hopeful that our Conference participants will plan to spend the weekend or even a week in historic Prince Edward County and the Quinte area.  Links to local County information including the City of Belleville are provided for reference. In addition, YouTube slide presentations of interest have been included.

Use the convenient email response page provided, should you have specific requests for information.

We look forward with anticipation to your visit with us.

Our personal regards,

Dan Rainey, QEMA  President  & Historian
